What’s Subaru got in mind when it restyles and redesigns a hugely successful model like the 2025 Subaru Forester in Albuquerque, NM?

There’s little doubt that Subaru has a lot on the line as they introduce a new version of its hugely successful Forester line for the 2025 model year. History has shown the Forester as a compact crossover that helped propel the company into the mainstream. It appeals to a broad segment of North American consumers with a combination of utility, pricing and ruggedness has brought many customers to the brand. But the millions of dollars spent on research and development to introduce an all-new Forester means Subaru has to get it right with the 2025 Subaru Forester. By introducing it in 2024, the company intends to give their latest Forester a head start on life.

What are the changes of the 2025 Subaru Forester in Albuquerque NM?

Let’s start by examining what Subaru has likely chosen for changes to the styling for the 2025 Subaru Forester. It’ll be an all-new body built on the Subaru Global Platform that will likely be stiffer, more aerodynamic and perhaps just a smidge wider and longer than the outgoing version. Advance pictures show the ’25 Forester with a large shield-like grille and nicely integrated LED headlights on either side. The Subaru emblem is proudly displayed in the center and fog lights integrated underneath the light module. Daytime running lights (DRLs) sit at the top and display two vertical lines up front. A slightly rising beltline of the two box design of the new Forester and clever sheet metal creases to create some visual interest. A bit of rake still allows more than adequate headroom for all passengers, but adds some aggressiveness to the ’25 Forester. Beefy fender guards accentuate the ruggedness of the model, while a more sharply raked rear door glass adds to the interior cargo capacity.

Perhaps it’s inside this new Forester that many past Subaru customers will appreciate the changes. A new contoured dashboard with integrated color screen allows both driver and passengers to access HVAC and entertainment options. You might be able to hear better, as the cabin is expected to be much quieter due to better construction, aerodynamics and sound dampening. The traditional display in front of the driver will offer a tach and speedometer, as well as center display for multiple driving systems. Expect to see the latest safety systems on this Forester, including the EyeSight Driver Assist system that can detect cyclists and pedestrians in and around Albuquerque. An around view monitor will also be standard and help drivers be more aware of objects around the Subaru Forester. Meanwhile, to acknowledge the sometimes varied rough use the Forester is subject to, Subaru elected to use a darker headliner to prevent marks (from loading large objects) on the roof.

Subaru expects to use its 2.5-liter Boxer four cylinder engine, rated at 180 HP, and 178 lb. /ft. of torque across all the models in the Forester line. It’s combined with a retuned continuously variable transmission and AWD with torque vectoring to put the power down evenly. Meanwhile, all Foresters will have 8.7” of ground clearance for use both on-and-off road, using 17” to 18” wheels. EPA mileage figures have yet to be released, but we may know more later in the year. No hybrid or full-electric versions of the new Forester are planned at this time. But we do expect to see three additional packages (Sport, Limited and Touring) beyond the base model to be offered at a price yet to be determined. The new 2025 Subaru Forester in Albuquerque NM should be expected to offer quite a package for New Mexican drivers who want an affordable, modern vehicle with SUV capabilities in a car-like package.

When Will the 2025 Subaru Forester in Albuquerque, NM arrive?

While many 2024 models are flowing in, Subaru expects the 2025 Forester to make a debut in the springtime of 2024. That’s a few months off, but the larger and improved 2025 Forester may be worth waiting for. Built in Indiana, the sleek new Forester will be ready to take on the latest models from Toyota, Ford or Honda in one of the hottest automotive segments on the North American market.
