What’s it like to drive the 2025 Subaru Legacy near Rio Rancho, NM?

Today is a good time to take an imaginary morning drive in your new 2025 Subaru Legacy. Under the rays of the early morning, you can see the finish of your new car gleam as you stand next to it. The lines of the sleek four door sedan stand out as your family makes its merry way inside. Comfort- that’s a word that comes to mind as everyone gets seated. Plenty of room for everyone inside; as your wife gives you a satisfied smile as she settles into her power sport seat and finds just the right setting. Behind her, the kids are playfully arranging themselves in the large backseat. As you sit in the driver’s seat you hit the #1 memory button to get your preferred seating settings in place. Pressing the dashboard start button brings the Legacy’s 182-HP flat-four engine to life. The LED gauges in front also pop into existence, along with the full color entertainment 11.6” screen next to it. This is the way you always imagined driving your new car would be. As you reach for the shifter, it’s reassuring that Subaru didn’t use buttons or dials on this model- just a reliable shifter with a nicely shaped handle to fit your hand.

Heading to your favorite breakfast place along Rio Rancho Boulevard, you enjoy the smooth response and ride that are hallmarks of the Legacy. Your wife has selected some music through Apple CarPlay as you marvel at the expansive view over the sleek hood. Signaling to change lanes, Subaru’s Eyesight driver-assist system lights up the mirror on that side of the car to let you know of a motorcycle in your blindspot. You wait until it’s clear, and think of a few times when the cross-traffic alert has already saved your bacon in crowded parking lots! You pass by your regular gas station, knowing that you have plenty of fuel for the day ahead. You’ve checked it before and know you’re getting good mileage (27 city, 35 highway and 30 MPG combined are EPA figures) on regular unleaded. Pretty good for an all-wheel drive sedan that’s handled all the kinds of weather that Rio Rancho can dish out! As you park your new car to get out and dine, it’s hard to take your eyes off the Legacy’s sleek profile simply sitting there. After a good breakfast and some coffee to get your day started, your family is ready for their weekend adventure.

Headed north on I-25, you can feel the low center of gravity from the Legacy’s 2.5-liter engine and sleek profile make blustery cross winds a non-factor on this day. Turn-in is immediate and you can feel the roadway as you sweep though slow and fast turns on your way to Santa Fe. Subaru added powerful 12.4” ABS front brakes, with large twin pot calipers and 11.8” rear discs for easy stopping power. You notice how much grip the 17” all-season radials provide, and while you were tempted with opting for a Legacy Sport model with 18” dark alloys and tires, you decided to go with a Legacy Premium model for the price.  After a day of fun and adventure for the whole family, you find yourself looking forward to the drive home. After all, the Legacy is so comfortable to drive and your wife and kids feel safe and secure on the drive home. It’s no surprise with Subaru’s EyeSight system, which features adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking system, and lane control and sway alert. There’s even a system to dim the headlights from oncoming traffic without you having to do it! All in all, a very satisfying day with your 2025 Subaru Legacy Premium sedan.

Last of the Line

The 2025 Subaru Legacy near Rio Rancho NM will be the last of a longstanding model that Subaru debuted back in 1989. The company has decided to retool their Indiana plant to produce advanced electric vehicles in the future. Pricing for the 2025 Legacy mid-size sedan lineup is not expected to change much, if at all, from the previous model year. Our guess is the Legacy line will start at about $25,000 and will top off with the 2025 Legacy Touring XT model at around $39K (MSRP not available at presstime).

When Is the Expected Arrival of the 2025 Subaru Legacy near Rio Rancho NM?

Subaru has also not yet announced when availability of the 2025 Legacy will be in New Mexico, but our best guess is early summertime. But one thing is clear, it’ll be the last (and possibly the best) of a line of Subaru sedans that has taken decades to develop. With pricing that remains below the average price of new cars today, and with all-wheel drive standard, it should be particularly attractive to New Mexico consumers. While there’s no definitive date of when they might arrive, look for the 2025 Subaru Legacy near Rio Rancho NM at the Fiesta Subaru dealership in Albuquerque at 7100 Lomas Blvd NE.
