Get Ready for Adventure in the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness in Albuquerque, NM
A couple of years ago, Subaru introduced a new branch to their already outdoorsy line of crossovers, the Wilderness version. Subaru Wilderness models are engineered for more rugged all-terrain exploration, with upgrades to the drivetrains, ground clearance, and off-road capabilities, combined with sturdier exterior styling and a modern cabin that’s comfortable, high-tech, and practical.
The Outback Wilderness was the first of its kind, followed by the Forester Wilderness, and now this sub-family of Subaru is set to get another sibling with the launch of the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness in Albuquerque, NM.
More Rugged Design
The new Crosstrek Wilderness will be the most capable Crosstrek to come straight from the factory. With exclusive body cladding, an improved 9.3-inch ground clearance, and Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, this Crosstrek is the toughest and most trail-ready model you can get.
Blending trail-ready functionality with style, the new Crosstrek Wilderness brings a new design to the front and rear bumpers, which improve approach and departure angles, a more prominent grille, larger wheel arch cladding, unique hexagonal-shaped LED fog lights, a metal front skid plate, and a matte-black hood decal for anti-glare. Its roof rail design offers flexibility to fit a variety of accessories, including Genuine Subaru accessories available from Fiesta Subaru. The roof rack can hold up to 176 pounds when traveling and an impressive 700 pounds when the Crosstrek is parked, perfect for rooftop tents.

Performance
The 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness in Albuquerque, NM brings an assortment of standard features, functional upgrades, and mechanical enhancements, making it more capable on the highway and off-road. However, it maintains the famous combination of car-like ride and handling with the SUV capability that the Crosstrek is known for.
Powered by a 2.5-liter direct-injection flat-four Subaru BOXER® engine, the Crosstrek Wilderness delivers up to 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The drivetrain for this compact SUV has been engineered for better trail performance by getting a returned Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and a revised differential gear ratio. This setup optimizes traction on slippery surfaces and at low speeds, while the 4.111 final drive ratio improves the vehicle’s climbing ability up to a 38°grade. The new Crosstrek Wilderness also features a transmission oil cooler, which allows the SUV to tow up to 3,500 pounds, more than double the capacity of the regular Crosstrek!
How Much and When Will It Arrive?
With a package of standard equipment that includes dual-zone climate control, steering-controlled LED headlights, and a cold-weather package comprised of heated seats, mirrors, and windshield, the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness starts at $33,290 (including destination fees). The only option package adds a moonroof, upgraded audio system, and a power driver’s seat.
